A Notary Public is a third-party witness that ensures, in fact, that all parties who signed are appearing before them and have produced proper identification. The person whose signature is being notarized must sign the document in the notary’s presence.

All notaries have current commission, annual background checks and carry Errors & Omission Insurance at a minimum of $25,000.

The maximum amount a notary public may charge for services is regulated by state law.
WA: $10 per signature witnessed, $10 per acknowledgment
CA: $12 per signature witnessed, $12 per acknowledgment
